About our Puppies
Our Vision
At Froggwoods, our vision is to promote the health and well-being of Pomeranian dogs through responsible breeding practices.
Our breeding dogs are our pets and live indoors with us. They will never be sold as "retired breeders" and will live out their lives here with us, their family.
The puppies are whelped in a clean and comfortable whelping box located in our bedroom. We keep a camera on them in order to always be able to check on them from wherever we are.
The puppies are raised using the Puppy Culture Program. This ensures that you get a well adjusted and amazing puppy that will adapt to your family with ease.
The puppies are moved to a large puppy pen in our living room when they are about 3 weeks old. This allows them to be in the center of all the hustle and bustle of the household so that they are used to loud noises and doors opening and closing and in our case the other dogs barking at the Amazon delivery drivers. We will have introduced all kinds of different items and noises to them along with at least one child and 4 dogs (including a German shepherd).
The puppies are started on housebreaking with newspapers and puppy pads. We transition them to a fake grass pad but do not move them to outdoor potty training until they have been vaccinated at least once for their protection.
We believe that every dog deserves a loving home, and we are committed to producing healthy and happy puppies that will make great pets for families and individuals alike.
What is included with a puppy?
- Each puppy has had a full Wisdom Panel DNA Health Test completed and results are given and posted for your peace of mind.
- You will receive an official AKC (American Kennel Club) information packet which is full of helpful information. Inside of it you will find your application for 30 days of FREE pet insurance when you register your puppy with the AKC.
- Pre-paid AKC registration. We want to make sure that you take advantage of all the perks of owning a registered dog, therefore we have already paid for each puppies registration. You will of course be able to name your own puppy so please have one picked out to register him/her upon purchase.
- You will decide if you want to register your puppy for LIMITED or FULL AKC registration. Any of the puppies can be registered for LIMITED which allows you to compete in a lot of AKC competitions except for showing. FULL AKC registration allows you the ability to show or breed your dog and register its puppies when bred to another AKC FULL registered dog. If you purchase a puppy with Limited registration and later you decide that the puppy is a good size and health to breed, you may pay the difference and we can get your puppy full registration at that time. *Please be aware that you can NOT breed a merle dog to another merle dog or you risk producing deaf and blind puppies. Some dogs that do not appear to have any merle coloring (including sable and brindle) will be a "silent or phantom merle" which if bred to a merle factored dog could produce very bad health abnormalities. If you want to breed your merle dog, you MUST breed to a DNA tested dog that does not carry the merle gene. The safest pick is a dark colored dog but you can't tell if it is a phantom merle without a DNA test!
- Puppies will come with first vaccinations and deworming.
- All puppies will have a complete professional grooming done prior to pickup with pads of feet and sanitary areas trimmed along with nails clipped
